Ronald Joseph "Butch" DeFeo, Jr. is a mass murderer responsible for the well-known and highly publicized 1974 killings of his mother, father, two brothers, and two sisters. (Also known as the Amityville Murders). The case is notable for being the real life inspiration behind the book and film versions of The Amityville Horror. At the time of the murders, DeFeo was just a 23 year old junkie. Since his conviction, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. has given several varying accounts of how the killings were carried out. He's known for constantly lying and changing his story, making everything he says hardly credible. At one point, he testified to being posessed by Satan.
DeFeo has been married multiple times and most recently remarried a woman named Nissa Burkhalter who is publishing her tell-all book about DeFeo "Thorns and Shards, the biography of Ronald DeFeo" (big surprise there.) She must really be in it for the love.
The Christmas card and envelope set are filled out in DeFeo's hand. He has written his name on the envelope twice (Ronnie DeFeo on the front and Ronald DeFeo on the back), and signed the card "Ronnie." A very rare and desirable item!
