Bobby Joe Maxwell's case was one that somehow did not get much media attention. Bobby Joe Maxwell was a gay black man who earned the name "Skid Row Stabber" who was an occultist and responsible for the murders of at least 11 homeless men on Skid Row in California between 1978 and 1979. His weapon? A knife. Next to the body of one victim, Maxwell wrote SATAN on cardboard in his victims blood.
He was finally caught when the 34-year-old was standing over a man on skid row with a ten-inch dagger in his hand. Once his home was searched, 9 knives turned up that had been used in the murders and his palm print matched the one found in the latest slaying.
Maxwell confided in another inmate that he had killed to "obtain the souls for Satan". He received a term of life in prison.
This is a two page letter (front and back). He has drawn art on the first page, included two pamphlets, and on the back of the second page he has outlined his hand. You are getting a handwritten envelope, letter, art, pamphlets, and a hand tracing! A truly unique piece. Bobby Joe Maxwell now goes by the nickname "Rainbow".
