On Monday, August 27, 2012 15 year old Bobby Gladden attended his first two classes, before going into the bathroom and reassembling a 12 gauge shotgun. He intended to open fire and then turn the shotgun on himself. Gladden then walked to the cafeteria, where he fired a shot and struck a 17-year-old male student in the back, critically wounding him. Gladden was then subdued, his plan foiled, and the 15 year old boy was sentenced to 35 years in prison for attempted murder.
"I walked into the cafeteria and I didn't really have any one person that I was trying to kill. I just turned to the side and shot and then before I could even get the second shot off a teacher came over and like pushed me up against a vending machine, so then I was stuck there and just gave up," he told the detectives. "I don't want to kill myself because I'm sad or depressed," he told them. "It's because I don't like people. I don't see a point in life, like you're just going to die and there's nothing after that, I think, so what's the point?" Gladden had Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris listed as his inspirational people on his Facebook page.
This drawing was done on the back of some prison document, it's was torn off on the left hand side and was folded a few times to fit into the envelope. It's a tattoo design that Bobby drew up that he wants on his back. When you flip it over, you can see the paperowrk "Waiver and Notification of Case Management Action". Bobby has written a note on the bottom saying "I want a better version of this on my back with Evil looking stuff in the back round, like skulls & demonic spirits & shit :D". A really interesting piece to have, especially since it was sketched up on an official prison document.
